生活状況

Stateside-barracks, tents with beds, etc. Overseas- we slept in houses, tents, trucks, cars and on the ground. Our meals were regular army meals. When on the road, we had 'C' and 'K' rations. We had no entertainment overseas.

軍隊生活で最も記憶に残っている出来事

I could not get rank because I was Japanese American at Ft. Sam Houston. T.O. called for Staff Sgt. or better. I got T/5 because of being Japanese American.

Freedom

個人的に軍隊経験から学んだ最も重要なこと

I served my country to the best of my ability, even with all the discrimination and segregation. I rose from private to lst Sgt and had the respect of my men.
