Craig Ishii of the JACL-PSW at the "PechaKucha Nite: Innovative Nikkei Projects" program presented by Discover Nikkei at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum of the Japanese American National Museum on August 31, 2010. The program featured six presentations by individuals who are working on projects that engage younger people in their community through culture and activism. The event was co-sponsored by the Museum and the newly formed Nikkei Youth Network based in Tokyo, Japan. In this clip, Dana Heatherton introduces Craig Ishii, the Regional director of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) Pacific Southwest District. Craig talks about his own personal connection with the local Japanese American community and how his passion for wanting to give back to the community has led to developing projects at the JACL-PSW like Project Community and Bridging Communities. *Discover Nikkei is a project that provides opportunities to connect with others and share the Nikkei experience.
