Akira Uchimura of the Nikkei Youth Network introduced a Brazilian hand dance to attendees of an after-party following the "PechaKucha Nite: Innovative Nikkei Projects" program presented by Discover Nikkei at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum of the Japanese American National Museum on August 31, 2010. The Nikkei Youth Network sponsored the reception at the Far Bar in Little Tokyo. The program featured six presentations by individuals who are working on projects that engage younger people in their community through culture and activism. The event was co-sponsored by the Museum and the newly formed Nikkei Youth Network based in Tokyo, Japan. *Discover Nikkei is a project that provides opportunities to connect with others and share the Nikkei experience. It is a project of the Japanese American National Museum, made possible with major funding by The Nippon Foundation. The DiscoverNikkei.org website is the primary component of the project.
