Black and white silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Among Tatsuno's earliest films, taken in 1936-1937, these generally show family events, and meetings of the Young People's Christian Conference, in which Tatsuno was active.
This segment (02:00), from 1937, shows a young man in neckerchief and 10-gallon hat; a young man in sailor's cap; young women, seated on a lawn, reading newspapers; groups of young men and women, some wearing Japanese-language signs around their necks; young people walking through grassy hills and resting in the shade; people doing group exercises on a lawn; a man in a cap, leading exercises; after exercising, people chat, take pictures, and play table tennis; the group assembled for a photograph.
