Boyle Heights is a Los Angeles neighborhood, located just east of downtown between the Los Angeles River and the city boundary. It is one of the city's earliest neighborhoods, and—like all communities—it has changed in many ways over the past century.

On February 18th, 2010, the Consulates General of Japan, Israel, Mexico co-sponsored the first of a series of cultural and multi-cultural activities: "Boyle Heights Intersections: Israel, Japan and Mexico." This trilateral project specifically features Boyle Heights, where the Jewish, Hispanic, and Japanese communities lived together in a peaceful, amicable manner in the early to mid-20th century.

This is a summary clip from the symposium on Boyle Heights in the Tateuchi Democracy Forum, National Center for the Preservation of Democracy.
