Beyond Hokusai and Hiroshige.
Makino Munenori is an artist specializing in traditional Japanese woodblock prints. He produces his pieces from start to finish, including painting, carving and printing.
Following in the footsteps of ukiyoe masters of the Edo Period such as Hokusai and Hiroshige, Makino is able to convey the vibrancy of life and nature through his advanced technique.
Makino has been blessed with both traditional and innovative talent. In 2003, he received the Chief Secretary’s Prize from the Agency of Cultural Affairs in Japan.
