Ana María Díaz Collazos é uma linguista interessada na relação entre linguagem e sociedade. Ela estuda a história e a evolução do espanhol ligadas às mudanças sociais. Ela também gosta de explorar o problema do uso da linguagem em comunidades bilíngues. Possui mestrado em linguística espanhola pelo Instituto Caro y Cuervo. Ela é doutoranda em Lingüística Hispânica pela Universidade da Flórida. Nas horas vagas, escreve contos infantis e publica livros.
