Black & white silent amateur footage of family and business activities of Setsuo Aratani (1885-1940), filmed 1926-1940.
This segment, filmed at one of Aratani's businesses, the Guadalupe Produce Co. (Guadalupe, California), shows Aratani posing with a group of well-dressed men and women outside the main packing house. Aratani strikes a match against his shoe to light a cigar. Some women wear kimono, others wear furs. After a photographer takes pictures, the group disperses, as people bow to each other (01:16).
