Hi, my name is Dani. I'm a half-Japanese, half Chinese sansei from Los Angeles, CA. I am currently attending UC Berkeley, studying English and Integrative Biology (Ecology).
I love to write, paint, draw, read, hike, travel, and bake. I love Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Mexican food, and sharing/trying out recipes with other people!
I speak and write English fluently, speak conversational Spanish, and can understand very minimal Japanese. I cannot speak any Portuguese.
I am currently a summer volunteer at the Japanese American National Museum, and have participated in previous programs such as JAO, Rising Stars, Yonsei Basketball Association, Berkeley Asian Pacific American Theme House, and the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. I have also been on volunteer teams such as Cali-Japan Team and San Antonio Guatemalan Endeavor. I have worked with Go For Broke National Education Center as well. I have previously participated in Berkeley Nikkei Student Union as an intern, Co-Social Chair, Co-Recruitment and Retention Chair, and Community Service/Issues Chair, and recently completed a year serving on the Board of the Berkeley chapter of JACL.
I really enjoy working with and for the JA community, and love to learn about other Nikkei people around the world!
