Most important thing, personally, to come from military experience?
Taught me the use of IBM punched card system enabling me to get employment as tab machine operator after service. Gave opportunity to attend college and get degree (B.S. Business) under G.I. Bill. Hoped son and daughter realize importance of higher education and make most of what opportunity exists.
Additional information
I answered 'No-No' at Gila and family was sent to Tule after father release from enemy alien detention. Volunteered for service after release from camp and put in six years. If not sent to camp would probably be drafted and would willingly have served at that time. 'No-No' was protest of treatment we received.
