This is a photo I took in my parents' garage on March 3, 2007. Two pith helmets sitting atop a shelf.

Pith helmets were often worn by Japanese American gardeners while working. I don't actually recall my father or uncle wear them, but then I never went out with them when they were working.

Actually, my father likes to wear baseball style caps/hats. He has a VERY large assortment of them and he wears them around everywhere. He takes care of them, washing them and hanging them to dry.
