Nolan Dyo shares about the Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program at the "PechaKucha Nite: Innovative Nikkei Projects" program presented by Discover Nikkei at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum of the Japanese American National Museum on August 31, 2010. The program featured six presentations by individuals who are working on projects that engage younger people in their community through culture and activism. The event was co-sponsored by the Museum and the newly formed Nikkei Youth Network based in Tokyo, Japan. In this clip, Dana Heatherton introduces Nolan Dyo, a planning committee member of the Nikkei Federation's Rising Stars Youth Leadership Program, and an adviser for the Alumni Program. Nolan explained about the Rising Stars program for high school students. After each program year's conclusion, the students have the option of joining the Alumni group that meets throughout the year and works on various community service projects. *Discover Nikkei is a project that provides opportunities to connect with others and share the Nikkei experience.
