This year the JCI celebrated its 2nd annual Camp Tanoshii. Camp Tanoshii is a week-long summer day camp formed by Amy Philips of Little Tokyo Service Center and Ray Shibata a recently retired engineer. Together they created a curriculum targeted toward children ages 6-9 which focuses on Japanese American culture. Through out the week-long camp the children participated in a series of Japanese American workshops and went to a field trip to the Japanese garden at California State University, Long Beach.
