Playwright Jon Shirota and his family at the "Community Forum: Okinawans and Their Global Networks" program at the Japanese American National Museum on March 1, 2008. Shirota's recent play at East West Players dealt with Okinawa identity.

This program was organized by the Center for Migration Studies at the University of the Ryukyus and the Japanese American National Museum in collaboration with Lane R. Hirabayashi, Aratani Endowed Chair, Asian American Studies Department at University of California at Los Angeles and the Okinawa Association of America, Inc.
