Addressing multiracial identity can be difficult

People don't always -- like for me, people don't always know what my mix is. Like when they hear I'm Japanese, like 'Oh, really?' they never knew that before. But then once they know, it opens things up. So that's another good point, it opens it up to people they had never seen before. But it's just... I guess, finding where you fit in with people can be a little difficult sometimes.

Eric Morton is the son of an African American father and Japanese American mother, Johnnie Sr. and Katsuko Morton. He is the brother of Johnnie and Chad Morton, both professional football players. He starred at wide receiver for Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Morton is now a patent attorney after attending law school at George Washington University. (August 10, 2005)
