145 Years of Japanese Canadian History (10 Parts, Zoom) - Part 1

Class/Workshop
Virtual

Date: Sept. 24, 2022

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the internment of Japanese Canadians in 1942. 2022 also marks 145 years since the first Japanese immigrant, Nagano Manzo, from Nagasaki Prefecture, landed in Canada. Our postwar new immigrant families already span three generations, accounting for about half of the total of 120,000 Japanese Canadians (as of 2016). However, we don't know much about the history made by Japanese people before the war. Why not learn about the 145-year history of Japanese Canadians in order to become the next generation of bearers of Japanese heritage? Starting September 24th this year, we will be holding seminars via Zoom once a month. Overview: Seminar on the 145-year history of Japanese Canadian society How to register: Registration fee: Free Those who wish to participate in the first session must register >>Click here to register (*Registrations for the second and subsequent sessions will be updated as necessary) For more information, please contact: < yusuketanaka446@gmail.com >
