I taught tea for a long time, so I was always alert because of that. I’m already retired now, but tea still comes up all the time. I think I’m probably still healthy because I do things like that. I think it’s good to be doing something even though you get older. In addition to that, everyone – my son, my daughters, my grandchildren – everyone is good to me, and so I’m always happy. I think that also has something to do with it.

A sra. Yoshiko Inose (nome de solteira: Shibuya) nasceu em Los Angeles, na Califórnia em 1908. Seu pai, Seijiro Shibuya, foi o primeiro chefe da editora do jornal The Rafu Shimpo. No início dos anos 30, Yoshiko se casou com Seijiro Inose, filho adotivo de Inosuke Inose. O sogro de Yoshiko era o presidente do Nanka Nihon Byoin (Hospital Japonês do Sul da Califórnia) – o primeiro hospital japonês da cidade, localizado nas cercanias de Little Tokyo [no centro de Los Angeles], entre as ruas Amelia e Turner.
