Before World War II, Japantowns thrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in an urban city - Oakland, suburban towns - Alameda, Berkeley, and San Mateo, and farming centers - Petaluma, Sebastopol, and Vacaville.    Dr. Raymond Douglas Chong, historian, will speak.
