Juliet S. Kono
Juliet S. Kono escreveu dois livros de poesia, uma coleção de contos e vários livros infantis. Ela foi amplamente antologizada, mais recentemente em Imagine What It's Like , que combina literatura e medicina. Seu livro mais recente é Anshū , um romance histórico sobre a Segunda Guerra Mundial, publicado em 2010. A Sra. Kono ganhou vários prêmios, mais notavelmente o American Japanese National Literary Award e a US/Japan Friendship Commission Creative Artists Exchange Fellowship em 1999. Em 2006 ela ganhou o Prêmio Havaí de Literatura. Nascida e criada em Hilo, no Havaí, ela agora mora em Honolulu com o marido e leciona redação como professora associada no Leeward Community College.
