 \n<p style="line-height: 115%\;">\nDr. Ueki teaches  &ldquo\;International
  Security&rdquo\; and &ldquo\;International Relations and Security in East
   Asia.&rdquo\; At Waseda University\, she leads a program on Political In
 tegration at the  Global Institute for Asian Regional Integration (GIARI) 
 and research projects on  Security Studies at the Institute for Asia-pacif
 ic Studies (WIASP) and at the  Organization for Japan&mdash\;U.S. Studies 
 (WOJUSS). She served as a member of the  Prime Minister&rsquo\;s Council o
 n Security and Defense Capabilities in 2009.&nbsp\; Dr.  Ueki earned her d
 octorate in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute  of Technol
 ogy. Her thesis\, &ldquo\;The Rise of &lsquo\;China Threat&rsquo\; Argumen
 ts\,&rdquo\; received the  Lucian Pye Award for Best Dissertation in Polit
 ical Science.\n\n
