 ear’s Pilgrimage theme is <strong>“Reaching Across Barbed Wire Fences
 ”</strong> . In addition to learning about the unique history and storie
 s of survivors of the Crystal City Internment Camp\, this year’s Pilgrim
 age will look at the legacy of solidarity and activism between the interne
 es and the present day Crystal City community.\n \n \n ** We look forward 
 to<strong> two Special Ceremonies</strong> to reveal:\n\n* A <strong>stree
 t named after two Japanese Peruvian girls\, Aiko Oyakawa and Sachiko Tanab
 e.</strong> The dear friends tragically drowned in the Crystal City Camp P
 ool in 1944. They were both 10 years old.\n \n * A <strong>stunning Swimmi
 ng Pool Memorial Monument will be unveiled at the Crystal City Camp site</
 strong> . Created by the award winning Art Director &amp\; Designer\, <str
 ong>Kazumu Julio Cesar Naganuma</strong> . Kaz’s work includes the San F
 rancisco Japantown History Walk\, the Alameda’s Tonarigumi Historic Japa
 ntown markers and the Enemy Alien Files traveling exhibit. Kaz is a Japane
 se Peruvian who was kidnapped with his family and interned in the WWII Cry
 stal City Internment Camp.\n\n<strong><span style="text-decoration: underl
