 orical Plaza in Portland\nTuesday\, August 6\, 2013\, 6pm\n\nThis year&#x27;s

 es lost at Hiroshima and Nagasaki while exploring our region&#x27;s inextricabl
 e relationship to the bombings. The plutonium used in the &quot;Fat Man&quot; weapon
 \, which killed so many tens of thousands at Nagasaki\, was created at the
  Hanford Nuclear Reservation near Richland\, WA\, which sits on the Columb
 ia River just a few hours east of Portland. The commemoration will feature
  speakers who will explore Hanford&#x27;s connection to the bombing of Nagasaki
  and performances by Portland Taiko and Satori Men&#x27;s Chorus.\n\nFollowing 
 the event at the Plaza\, &lt;strong&gt;please join us at the Oregon Nikkei Lega
 cy Center for a special evening viewing of our two art exhibitions&lt;/strong
 &gt;\, &lt;em&gt;Black Rain: Memories\, Histories\, Places\, Bodies&lt;/em&gt; and &lt;em
 &gt;Shadows&lt;/em&gt;. Oregon PSR will lead a ceremonial walk from the Plaza to th
 e Legacy Center. A special performance by &lt;em&gt;Black Rain&lt;/em&gt;&#x27;s Yukiyo Ka
 wano\, Portland resident and a third generation &lt;em&gt;hibakusha&lt;/em&gt; (nucl
 ear bomb survivor)\, will question the legacy of the nuclear era. Attendee
 s can also step into the Shadow Box\, a custom-designed camera-less photo 
 booth built to create images that evoke the shadows left by victims of Hir
