"The Cats of Mirikitani" To Be Screened for 2008 Day of Remembrance, Chicago

On Sunday, February 17, 2008, the Chicago Japanese American Historical Society, Chicago Japanese American Council, Japanese American Citizens League - Chicago Chapter, and Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago will present the annual Day of Remembrance observance, commemorating the signing of Executive Order 9066. On the program will be a special screening of the award-winning documentary, "The Cats of Mirikitani," and a question-and-answer session with director Linda Hattendorf.

The Day of Remembrance 2008 will be held at the Chicago History Museum (1601 N. Clark Street, Chicago) beginning at 2 pm. The program will be free and open to the public; however, those who wish to visit the museum as well will have to pay the usual admission fee. Validated parking will be available one block north of the museum.
