DESCRIPTION:El México mas Cercano a Japón\nDirected by Shinpei Takeda\n\n
This 50-minute video documentary reveals a rather unknown history of the J
apanese community in Tijuana that has existed since the 1920s. The documen
tary weaves the images taken by the first Japanese photographer of Tijuana
in the 20s with testimonials from the first\, second\, and third generati
ons. The film also highlights the plight of the Japanese community during
World War II. It is a story of historical and contemporary economic and cu
ltural connections between Japan and Tijuana.\n\nFor more information\, se
