シャーロン・ヤマトは、ロサンゼルスにて活躍中のライター兼映像作家。日系人の強制収容をテーマとした自身の著書、『Out of Infamy』、『A Flicker in Eternity』、『Moving Walls』の映画化に際し、プローデューサー及び監督を務める。受賞歴を持つバーチャルリアリティプロジェクト「A Life in Pieces」では、クリエイティブコンサルタントを務めた。現在は、弁護士・公民権運動の指導者として知られる、ウェイン・M・コリンズのドキュメンタリー制作に携わっている。ライターとしても、全米日系人博物館の創設者であるブルース・T・カジ氏の自伝『Jive Bomber: A Sentimental Journey』をカジ氏と共著、また『ロサンゼルス・タイムズ』にて記事の執筆を行うなど、活動は多岐に渡る。現在は、『羅府新報』にてコラムを執筆。さらに、全米日系人博物館、Go For Broke National Education Center（Go For Broke国立教育センター）にてコンサルタントを務めた経歴を持つほか、シアトルの非営利団体であるDensho（伝承）にて、口述歴史のインタビューにも従事してきた。UCLAにて英語の学士号及び修士号を取得している。
