スタンリー・N・シクマは、作家、和太鼓奏者、地域活動家です。シアトル古今太鼓で演奏し、風太鼓（和太鼓の若者グループ）を指導するほか、新作オペラ、無声映画音楽、舞踏、人形劇の演奏者、作曲家、打楽器奏者としても活躍しています。社会活動家として、スタンは公民権、日系アメリカ人の歴史、和太鼓に関する執筆や講演を行っています。トゥーリー湖巡礼、日系アメリカ人市民連盟（JACL）、シアトル二世退役軍人委員会およびNVC財団、アジア太平洋系アメリカ人労働同盟（APALA）、シアトル地域和太鼓グループ、和太鼓コミュニティ同盟などとの連携活動を行っています。
