DESCRIPTION:&lt;strong&gt;Ako Castuera&amp;rsquo\;s&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp\;sculptural work is
  informed by the diverse cultural and environmental features of Southern C
 alifornia\, on Tongva Land\, where she was born and currently lives. Ako&amp;r
 squo\;s sculptural work is a material exploration which draws on mythmakin
 g to give body to personal and global histories\, incorporating a variety 
 of mediums including locally gathered and commercial clay\, neighborhood y
 ard trimmings\, compost\, yarn\, and living worms. Ako&amp;rsquo\;s practice i
 ncludes teaching workshops on storytelling\, local clay and compost. Her w
 ork has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the US. She maintai
 ns a concurrent career in animation\, most recently as an episode director
  on&amp;nbsp\;&lt;em&gt;City of Ghosts&lt;/em&gt;\, and is also known for her work as a wr
 iter/storyboard artist on&amp;nbsp\;&lt;em&gt;Adventure Time&lt;/em&gt;.&amp;nbsp\;\n\nCastuer
 a will be teaching participants how to make and form an easy bakers clay u
 sing just flour\, salt\, and water\, inspired by artist Ruth Asawa who use
 d this simple medium to create impressive sculptural structures. Join for 
 this interactive workshop designed to spark creativity in the middle of yo
 ur day.&amp;nbsp\;\n\nThis workshop is part of a new series of free\, lunchtim
 e art workshops that you can do with the supplies you have at home called
