Ako&r squo\;s sculptural work is a material exploration which draws on mythmakin g to give body to personal and global histories\, incorporating a variety of mediums including locally gathered and commercial clay\, neighborhood y ard trimmings\, compost\, yarn\, and living worms. Ako&rsquo\;s practice i ncludes teaching workshops on storytelling\, local clay and compost. Her w ork has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the US. She maintai ns a concurrent career in animation\, most recently as an episode director on&nbsp\;<em>City of Ghosts</em>\, and is also known for her work as a wr iter/storyboard artist on&nbsp\;<em>Adventure Time</em>.&nbsp\;\n\nCastuer a will be teaching participants how to make and form an easy bakers clay u sing just flour\, salt\, and water\, inspired by artist Ruth Asawa who use d this simple medium to create impressive sculptural structures.
