DESCRIPTION:The Portland Japanese Garden will be holding its popular annual
  Plant Sale on Saturday\, April 26\, in the upper parking lot of the Garde
 n. This sale gives garden enthusiasts an ideal opportunity to browse a wid
 e selection of plants native to Asia as well as plants found in Asian gard
 ens. \n\nMore than 25 Portland-area nurseries will be selling an outstandi
 ng selection of conifers\, peonies\, camellias\, hydrangea\, bamboo\, bons
 ai\, Japanese maples\, azaleas\, rhododendrons\, and more. "These native A
 sian plants can be used in any garden and are particularly suitable for As
 ian-themed gardens\," commented Virginia Harmon\, the Garden's Director Gr
 ounds Maintenance.  "This sale offers a unique range of plants for gardene
 rs of all types-from the weekend gardener to specialist in Japanese garden
 ing."\n\nMembers of the Japanese Garden will enjoy a members-only sale tim
 e from 9-10am. The general public is welcome from 10am-3pm. For more detai

  Portland Japanese Garden has been proclaimed by his Excellency Nobuo Mats
 unaga\, former Ambassador of Japan\, to be "the most beautiful and authent
 ic Japanese garden in the world outside of Japan." The Garden is above Was
 hington Park at 611 SW Kingston Drive in SW Portland\, Oregon. The Garden 
 is open daily except on Thanksgiving\, Christmas\, and New Year's. Hours a
 re 10am-4pm October 1-March 31\, and 10am-7pm April 1-September 30.
