The handmade Hinamatsuri set was created by Tomi Kusumi for the March 3, 1943 Girl’s Day at the Amache concentration camp. A teacher of a crocheting class at Santa Anita Assembly Center and later at Amache, Colorado. Tomi Kusumi made the Girl’s Day set for her daughter, Terry, who donated the original set, pictured here in full color.
