Molly A. Takemoto, a participant at the "Whose America? Who's American? Diversity, Civil Liberties, and Social Justice" National Conference in Denver, Colorado presented by the Japanese American National Museum.
The photo was taken at the Discover Nikkei booth in the Community Marketplace on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency, Denver.
Participants of the Discover Nikkei photo activity were asked to write their thoughts about the conference or share a memory related to WWII.
Molly Takemoto's comments:
"I came to the conference because my grandmother and her sisters were all placed in internment camps when they were young. I saw how much their experiences impacted their lives and I wanted to learn about other people's experiences."
