Watch Watch Licensing

Black and white silent amateur films by Dave Tatsuno (1913-2006), a businessman in the San Francisco Bay area. Tatsuno's films, before 1942 and the forced exclusion of World War II, generally show family outings, sporting events, holidays, celebrations, and the family business.

This segment, from the late 1930s, shows Alice Okada Tatsuno with Mrs. Tsuchiya in front of the Tatsunos' home at 1625 Buchanan St. in San Francisco; Mr. and Mrs. Tsuchiya exit the house with Alice; the Tatsuno family on a picnic outing to the Russian River; a boat on the Russian River [dark]; houses and forest along the river [dark]; family members (00:58).
