補償運動

1970年代までには、多くの草の根活動団体が戦時中の強制収容の不当性を主張し始めていました。そして、日系人の基本的人権を侵害したことを認めるよう合衆国政府に要求しました。

1988年、政府は自らの過ちを認め、公式に謝罪し、被収容者に対し具体的な意思表示としての補償金を支払うことに同意しました。

展示室では政府が行った調査での証人証言のビデオや矯正運動に関わった方々のインタビューの一部の録音（英語）を聞く事ができます。
