『大統領令9066』

真珠湾攻撃の翌日、アメリカ政府は第二次世界大戦に参戦を表明し、即座に全米の日系コミュニティの指導者を逮捕、拘禁しました。

翌年2月には『大統領令9066』が発布され、西海岸在住の全ての日系人は強制収容所へ送られることになりました。アメリカの国籍を保持しているかどうかにかかわらず、在米の日系人はすべて「敵国である日本人」と同一視されたのです。
