 miss the art of letter writing? Would you like to have the opportunity to 
 write a letter to the future of Little Tokyo or to a future stakeholder of
  this community?\n\nGather with us in a relaxed atmosphere on JANM Plaza e
 ach Thursday of August to share tea\, conversation\, and write letters—w
 ith plenty of prompts provided by <strong>traci kato-kiriyama</strong>\, 
 Little Tokyo +LAB Artist-in-Residence.\n\nArtist and tea enthusiast <stro
 ng>Linda Wei</strong> will be helping to serve tea and conversation promp
 ts.\n\nSound-based ethnographer and artist <strong>Umi Hsu</strong> will
  be present for field recordings of the sessions and of those who would li
 ke to read aloud some of what they write—on their hopes and dreams for t
 he future of Little Tokyo\; the future of how we define “home\,” “co
 mmunity” and “solidarity”\; and for the future of how we practice wh
 at it means to be a “good friend” and a “good neighbor.”\n\nAll ag
 es welcome to show up\, drink some tea\, and write some letters (participa
 nts can follow prompts or write on their own).\n\n(Tea and paper/cards/sta
 mps will be provided\, free of charge. Feel free to bring a small snack to
  share!)\n\n<em>+LAB is a bold initiative that allows Little Tokyo Service
  Center to join forces with artists and cultural institutions to find imag
 inative ways to empower the Little Tokyo community. A project of the Littl
 e Tokyo Service Center\, in partnership with the Japanese American Nationa
 l Museum\, Visual Communications\, Japanese American Community and Cultura
