 s coming from minority communities who achieved great things. Oregon Stori
 es is a project of the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble.\n\nThe three perf
 ormances tell the story of&amp;nbsp\;&lt;strong&gt;George Akiyama&lt;/strong&gt;\, a Hood 
 River resident threatened with violence after serving in World War II &amp;nda
 sh\; and a fellow citizen who stepped forward to support him\, as told by 
 historian Linda Tamura &amp;ndash\; as well as the stories of two other Oregon
