BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:-//PYVOBJECT//NONSGML Version 1//EN BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART:20120908T000000Z DTEND:20120908T000000Z DESCRIPTION:\n\nKaiseki ryori\, seasonal Japanese cuisine served during the traditional Chanoyu (tea ceremony) gathering\,&nbsp\;has its roots in the simple seasonal vegetarian cuisine served in the Zen temple.&nbsp\;\n\nKa iseki cuisine uses fresh seasonal ingredients\, simple seasonings and cook ing&nbsp\;techniques to create dishes that are beautiful to look at\, tast y and in harmony&nbsp\;with the season. Strictly vegetarian in earlier tim es\, kaiseki cooking has changed&nbsp\;with modern tastes and customs and now often includes seafood\, poultry and&nbsp\;meat in its many dishes.&nb sp\;\n\nThis early autumn <strong>kaiseki workshop</strong> will feature 4 courses including:&nbsp\;<em>edamame gohan</em>&nbsp\;(green soybean rice )\, poached chilled scallops with celery\,&nbsp\;<em>ebi shinjo</em>&nbsp\ ;(fish dumpling with prawns) and<em>yasai no karashi misoae</em>&nbsp\;(fr esh vegetables with a mustard miso dressing). Dashi soup stock will also b e made using&nbsp\;<em>konbu</em>&nbsp\;(kelp) and&nbsp\;<em>katsuobushi</ em>&nbsp\;(shaved dried bonito).&nbsp\;The class will be mostly demonstrat ion\, with some hands-on arranging\, and participants will be able to samp le the dishes that are prepared.
