DESCRIPTION:&lt;strong&gt;KATSURA&lt;/strong&gt;\n&lt;strong&gt;The Photographs of Ishimoto Y
 asuhiro &lt;/strong&gt;\nIshimoto Yasuhiro studied with Aaron Siskind and Harry
  Callahan at the Institute of Design. In 1953\, Ishimoto began photographi
 ng the Katsura Imperial Villa\, which was built in Kyoto in the seventeent
 h century for the Japanese Imperial Family. Its buildings and gardens are 
 created in a simple yet elegant style that has had an effect on many moder
 n architects such as Bruno Taut. The 50 images in the exhibition\, which i
 s curated by Susan Aurinko\, are from the book Katsura\, published in 1960
