-‐-‐ The Califonia Legacy Voices Teacher Workshop and the Japanese American Museum of San Jose will celebrate Fred T. Korematsu Day on Saturday, January 30, 2016, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Japanese American Museum of San Jose, 535 North Fifth Street, San Jose , CA.
The program will begin with the California Legacy Voices teacher workshop, followed by a presentation by Karen Korematsu, daughter of Fred T. Korematsu, and a panel discussion regarding the Korematsu case by local and Bay Area judges. The Honorable Roberta Hayashi, Santa Clara County Superior Court judge, will moderate the panel .
Teachers interested in attending the Legacy Voices Workshop must register to receive curriculum materials related to the incarceration of Japanese Americans. Registration for Legacy Voices can be emailed to publicprograms@jamsj.org . Teachers must include school name and gr ade level to receive materials. The registration deadline for teachers is Friday, January 22, 2016.
All others who want to attend the afternoon program of Karen Korematsu and the panel discussion should register by emailing publicprograms@jamsj.org , or by calling (408) 294-3138.

Agenda:
10:00 am - 2 pm: The California Legacy Voices Teacher Workshop for Teachers and administrators
12:30 - 2 PM: Presentation by Karen Korematsu, daughter of Fred T. Korematsu, and a short film about Mr. Korematsu.
2:00 - 4:00 pm: A panel of distinguished Judges and community leaders discussing the Korematus coram nobis case and its impact on issues of intolerance toward ethnic and religious minorities today.
