The second annual kimono and vintage sale will held on Sunday, April 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the Nikkei Matsuri Festival. The sale will be held in the agricultural exhibit area of the Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj).
This unique sale features gently-used items of Japanese or Asian influence. Last year, Machiko Shiozaki from the Kimura Gallery in Palo Alto, California, helped us evaluate and price the donated items. We hope to be able to take advantage of her expertise again this year.
On sale last year were items from the Sasser family estate, books from the museum library, obis, kimonos, fabric, dishes, dolls, swords, paintings, and hangings. The samurai swords were the most sought-after items. We expect similar items this year. So come one, come all, to check out the goods!
You can help us raise money for the museum by either:
Donating--Donations will be accepted from April 2 through April 20.on Thursday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Did you know that donations are tax deductible? So you can help yourself as well as JAMsj--we will give you a tax-deductible donation form for your items.
Buying--Come to the sale and buy whatever strikes your fancy, either for yourself or for a thoughtful gift. Again, help yourself and support the museum at the same time.
