The North American premiere performances of "Tao," the Kyushu-based wadaiko group billed as Japan's response to Riverdance, give ticket buyers the opportunity to make a difference in the city. Under the Chicago Human Rhythm Project's "Global Rhythms/Thanks4Giving" project, half of the price of each ticket can be donated to the Chicago charitable organization selected by the buyer. In addition, those who designate such donations receive a 10% discount on ticket prices.
Performances will take place at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance (205 E. Randolph Drive, Chicago, in Millennium Park) on November 23 through 25, 2007. For ticket information, visit www.harristheaterchicago.org, or call 312.334.7777.
As one of the participating charitable organizations, the Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago (JASC) will receive donations from ticket buyers who specify "CHRP-Japanese American Service" in telephone or online orders. For a complete list of participating organizations, visit www.chicagotap.org.
