 n“Painting in the Asian Manner"\, an exhibit by members of Sumi-e Midwes
 t\, will open with a public reception at the Heller Nature Center in Highl
 and Park on Sunday\, April 9\, from 2 to 4 pm. Featured artists include\; 
 Lynn Foster\, Richard Kim\, Idelle Groat\, Maxine Gladstone\, Barbara Irwi
 n\, Pamela Houcek\, Ileane Tatar\, and Kay Thomas\n\nSumi-e Midwest is a c
 hapter of the Sumi-e Society of America. The national society was founded 
 in 1963 by Professor Motoi Oi\, and the Midwest Chapter was organized in l
 982. The purpose of both groups is to foster and encourage an appreciation
  of Oriental brush painting techniques and to serve as a cultural bridge b
 etween East and West.  \n\nThe exhibit continues through June 1. For addit
