About

I am the great-grandson of a war prisoner whose name was Oochi Yakuji (he adopted a Spanish name, Alejandro, when he moved to Latin America). In April 1942 he was captured by the American military in Panama together with many other Japanese persons and was held captive until his death in May of the same year. He was held captive with a very notable Japanese businessman called Amano Yoshitaro. They were both held on spying charges and were allegedly involved in possible attack to the Panama Canal. Up to date I have very little information on my great-grandfather. I am currently residing in Japan as a foreign student, but I would also like to find out about my origins. I do not know what is my great grandfather's hometown, but I suspect it is Yokohama. I hope I can meet someone here who can aid me a bit in my quest.
