I was born in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture in 1954. I came to Los Angeles in 1981. I worked as a reporter for the California Mainichi Newspaper in Los Angeles and the Nichibei Times in San Francisco. After serving as assistant to the Los Angeles bureau chief of the Asahi Shimbun and as manager of Kyodo News' Japanese news distribution company in Los Angeles, I started a monthly English newspaper, Cultural News, in 1998. I am the newspaper's publisher and editor-in-chief. Cultural News introduces Japanese art exhibitions and Japanese cultural events that can be experienced in Los Angeles. In addition to publishing the monthly newspaper, we also publish a website at http://www.culturalnews.com and an email newsletter.
