My Journey to Discover the Legacy of my Grandma, Yuri Kochiyama

My First Visit to New York!

The first time I went to visit New York was for my Uncle Eddie's wedding when I was 5 years old.  Honestly, all I remember from that trip is playing with my cousins in New Jersey and jumping on the huge, floor piano at FAO Schwartz.  That's why I really want to go back now that I am much older and much more curious, so that I can appreciate all the history that comes from that city.

In this picture, we are standing in front of my grandma's apartment, 545 W. 126th St. in Harlem.
