Heart Mountain Memorial Park

Heart Mountain was home to over 11,000 people, there were 30 blocks altogether. One barrack usually housed 4 family units. Typical room sizes were 14 x 20, but larger families had larger rooms. Each barrack was just a giant room with no walls so there was virtually no privacy. Summers were about 80 degrees and in the Winter the temperature would be around 12 below. Salaries were 12, 16 , and 19 dollars per month for a 40 hour week. All workers received $3.75 a month for clothing allowance.
