Andy Yamashita
Andy Yamashita is a student journalist currently attending the University of Washington where he double majors in journalism and ethnic studies with a concentration on Asian/Pacific American studies. A Yonsei and Bay Area native, Yamashita currently serves as the sports editor at The Daily, the UW’s student newspaper where he has written over 250 articles. In 2019, he placed second nationally in the ACP Pacemaker’s multimedia sports package, and in 2020, he was selected to join the Sports Journalism Institute. Yamashita particularly enjoys writing about people of color in and around sports, and hopes to tell their stories for years to come.
