Burt Takeuchi


Burt Takeuchi is a producer, director, actor born in Los Angeles, CA, who has lived in San Jose for many decades. He graduated from San Jose State with a degree in biology. Burt is a SAG member who has worked on variety of film and television shows. He has a background in history studying the Asian American experience, military history, sports, food, and pop music. He produced a feature documentary based on detailed oral histories of Japanese American WWII 442nd Regimental Combat Team veterans, Valor with Honor (2010), and is currently producing The Last Bugle, a dramatic web series based on the 442nd (2022). Also in preproduction: an untitled documentary on women’s competitive flag football (2023). Burt has trained in acting for the camera and lighting skills through Just For Actors (Dennis Sakamoto) and SAG-AFTRA acting workshops in San Francisco, CA.
