 agasaki\, the Japanese American National Museum in partnership with the tw
 o cities presents&amp;nbsp\;&lt;em&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;Under a Mushroom Cloud: Hiroshima\, N
 agasaki\, and the Atomic Bomb&lt;/em&gt; on view November 9\, 2019 through June 
 7\, 2020.\n\nA uranium bomb devastated Hiroshima on August 6\, 1945\, and 
 a plutonium bomb exploded over Nagasaki on August 9\, the only cities to s
 ustain mass destruction. Beyond the many dead\, the survivors have endured
  physical and spiritual pain to this day. Japanese Americans then living i
 n Hiroshima and Nagasaki who survived are a part of this vital story. In a
 ddition to photographs\, explanatory texts\, and artifacts\,&amp;nbsp\;&lt;em&gt;Und
 er a Mushroom Cloud&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp\;includes contemporary art that provides an 
 array of perspectives on the effects of the atomic bombs and their impact 
 today. The exhibition sheds light on this painful history while creating a
  safe space for discussion with hopes that no person or country ever suffe
