Her first book\,&nbsp\;<em>Modernism&r squo\;s Mythic Pose: Gender\, Genre\, Solo Performance&nbsp\;</em>(2011) w as awarded the de la Torre Bueno Award for dance studies.&nbsp\;<em>Learni ng to Kneel: Noh\, Modernism\, and Journeys in Teaching</em>\, recently re leased by Columbia University Press\, focuses on the international circula tion of W. B. Yeats'&nbsp\;<em>At the Hawk&rsquo\;s Well&nbsp\;</em>(1916) to examine the influence of noh drama on modernist theater\, poetry\, and dance. Her research for the project was supported by a grant from the Jap an Society for the Promotion of Science and the Peter Paul Career Developm ent Professorship\, which enabled her to study noh dramaturgy and performa nce technique in Tokyo.
