Topics to be covered include the following:\n\n& bull\; Finding vital records: land\, census\, and immigration \n &bull\; Ordering internment camp records \n &bull\; Finding picture-bride case fi les\, alien files\, and naturalization records\n &bull\; Looking for clues in documents\n &bull\; Taking that information to find records in Japan\n &bull\; Looking for records available in Japan\, versus looking for recor ds available at the Family History Library \n &bull\; Finding your Koseki (family registry in Japan)\n &bull\; Understanding Ohaka (grave site) and Kakocho (death registry) \n &bull\; Visiting relatives\, cemeteries\, and temples\n\nLinda Harms Okazaki is a fourth-generation San Franciscan with a background in education. An active member of the genealogical community in California and beyond\, she is passionate about teaching Nikkei how to to research\, document\, and share their personal family histories. Okazak i is a member of several genealogical associations\, including the Associa tion of Professional Genealogists\, the California Genealogical Society\, and the Nikkei Genealogical Society.\n\nCost: $35 class fee plus admission to the museum (nonmembers\, $5\; students and seniors over age 65\, $3\; JAMsj members and children under 12\, free).
